Keema was bought from the Sirenek Kennel in Norway as a second attempt at finding a foundation bitch for the Nyrakym kennel. Alas that was not to be, but Keema
settled into her role as "the spoilt one who lives indoors" with amazing aplomb. She was an incredible ambassador for the breed - nothing phased her, she was so laid back & easy going that
we are not sure if she knew she was a Malamute at all! During her life, she was the best buddy of our daughter, Phillipa, who was born just 18 days before Keema. Keema was a
Sunny daughter, out of a litter sister of Froy, NUCH FCI Int. Ch. Najanin's North Horn Niki (or Niki for short!). Keema was x-rayed free of HD in Sweden but diagnosed with
cataract while still young.
During her brief career in the show ring she was awarded all three required Swedish Champion awards, many Best Opposite awards and several Best of Breed
awards, but she never took the "dragprov" (sledding test) she needed to become an officially recognised Swedish Show Champion (pulling sleds was never Keema's strong point). She also won two
CACIB awards (towards her FCI International Championship) in Sweden prior to being spayed & retired, once it became apparent she would never be a Mom! Keema left us at the age of 12
years to join her friends in doggy heaven.
