Froy was the second Malamute ever owned by Jari Nirhamo. She was born in 1988 and, sadly, was laid to rest all too soon in 1998 due to kidney failure. Froy came from a
background of Tote-Um dogs that were imported into Norway in the mid 1970's combined with a Barrenfield dog imported into Norway in the early 1980's. She was a very typical dog for the
Norwegian kennel that she came from - Najanin. She was hard working, intelligent, fun-loving and the matriarch of the Samaljankan kennel until the day she died. She had two litters of
puppies by Multi Ch Williwaw's Red War Eagle (Sunny) from which the Samaljankan kennel were fortunate enough to get a number of fine dogs. Astra
(from the first litter, born in February 1991) and Siru (from the second litter, born in August 1993) are still with us today and have also produced some lovely dogs.
Froy won one BIS puppy award and many BOB awards during her show career.
