Sisu was our only pup from the Doris/Benny frozen semen breeding, born by C-section. At birth he weighed in at an incredible 1.5 lbs (0.71kg)! He
thrived & Doris
proved to be a great Mom!
Sisu turned out to be a real character, full of charm and soooo calm, and we love him to bits. Not only that, but he had looks too!
He was Karyn's all-time favourite Malamute (yes, even over Woolaf).
At 6 months and 17days of age, at his 6th show, Sisu became a Canadian Champion! As a puppy, Sisu won 22 BOB awards, 27 Best Puppy in
Breed awards, he was pulled out in the last 3 or 4 of the Working Breeds Puppy Group twice plus won Best Puppy in Group three times. He made the cut in
the Working Group twice & placed in the Working Group once - wow, what a ride! At the 2003 AMCA National Specialty he won Best Senior Puppy in Sweeps and at the 2003 Canadian National he
went one better winning Best Puppy in Sweeps (handled by Jari). In 2004 he has won Best Opposite in Sweeps (CRWG Specialty) and Best Graduate in Sweeps (AMCA Mid East Regional
Specialty). He was the No. 9 top Malamute in Canada in 2003 (shown only half the year due to his young age) and No. 8 male Malamute (AMCC system). In 2004 he was again one of the Top 10
Malamutes in Canada (AMCC system). Sisu finished his American
Championship in 2005 with a 5 point Specialty win under a long-standing & well-known breeder-judge Wendy Wilhauck. Also, taken out very occasionally in Canada in 2005, he won one Group 2 and 2 Group 4's.
In 2006 he was the #5 Malamute in Canada with limited showing and won several
Group 1s as well as a number of group placements, always owner-handled.
In 2007 he was taken out sparingly and showed well with several BOB's in
the US. Sadly, on December 4th, 2007 he passed away in his sleep after his
morning exercise.
